Carroll, Lewis

LEWIS CARROLL (1832-1898) foi um poeta, romancista e matemático inglês. Alice no país das maravilhas é sua obra mais famosa e, de tão singular, gera inúmeras teorias sobre a sua vida, a inspiração para Alice e a criação de suas histórias.

Tenniel, John

John Tenniel (1820–1914), inglês, foi pirata antes de se tornar ilustrador e humorista gráfico. Foi o principal cartunista político da revista satírica Punch por mais de cinquenta anos, para qual produziu mais de 2 mil ilustrações e caricaturas. Ilustrou também vários livros, incluindo uma edição de 1848 das fábulas de Esopo, mas é lembrado hoje sobretudo pelas ilustrações de Alice no País das Maravilhas e Alice Através do Espelho.
