MATT RIDLEY é autor de livros provocativos sobre evolução, genética e sociedade. Mora na Inglaterra com a esposa, a neurocientista e professora Anya Hurlbert, e dois filhos. Antes de se tornar escritor e empresário, trabalhou para o The Economist por nove anos como editor de ciência, correspondente e editor em Washington. Já recebeu prêmios como Hayek Prize em 2011 e Julian Simon Award em 2012. Atualmente ele escreve em uma coluna semanal no The Times e The Wall Street Journal e serviu no comitê seleto de ciência e tecnologia de 2014 a 2017.
