Stevenson, Robert Louis

O escocês Robert Louis Stevenson (1850-1894) formou-se em Engenharia, mas, desde muito jovem, já mostrava interesse pela literatura. Mesmo contra a vontade do pai, acabou se dedicando à carreira artística. Viveu em Londres no momento histórico em que a cidade passava por um período de intensa ebulição cultural e de aumento significativo da criminalidade.
