Spinelli, Jerry

Jerry Spinelli é autor de mais de 20 livros para adolescentes, entre eles Maniac Magee (1990), vencedor da Newbery Medal, Wringer (1996), que ganhou a Newbery Honor, Crash (1996), Eggs (2007) e Knots in My Yo-Yo String (1998), sua autobiografia. Formou-se no Gettysburg College, na Pensilvânia, onde mora com sua esposa, a escritora e poeta Eileen Spinelli, com quem tem seis filhos, que fornecem uma quantidade inesgotável de material para seus livros.
